Girl Scouts are taught to research an issue, create a plan to address it, and put that plan into action in order to improve their communities. Our May Volunteer of the Month echoed that mission!
Debbie Harney is an experienced cookie program supervisor and cookie cupboard manager for Sokoki Service Unit serving the Cape Elizabeth and South Portland area. Known for her abilities to put out fires that arise surrounding cookie sales, Debbie truly stepped up to the plate this season. After realizing there was a scheduling issue within the South Portland cookie cupboard, Debbie took initiative to volunteer her own time at the cupboard and collaborate with staff to ensure consistent weekend coverage throughout all of April.
This month, we appreciate Debbie for all of her hard work. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise to help us create an atmosphere of respect, teamwork, and collaboration. We wouldn’t have been able to reach our goals this exceptional cookie season without you!
