Girls ages 14-17, join us for the experience of a lifetime as you earn your Junior Maine Guide (JMG) certification this summer at Camp Natarswi. Attend camp for three weeks to perfect 21 specific outdoor skills, and then head off to test those skills on a five day adventure at the final test encampment, with JMG candidates from other camps, in the Rangeley Lakes area. Located in Baxter State Park, Camp Natarswi sits in the shadow of Mt. Katadin, hugging the shoreline of Lower Togue Pond and is a true wildness paradise.
The JMG program is offered at only 10 camps in Maine, and Girl Scouts have been earning their JMG for nearly 90 years! Join this accomplished group of Girl Scouts who’ve had the determination and skills to earn the Junior Maine Guide certification. JMG is unique to the State of Maine and is an amazing accomplishment for a girl who loves the outdoors. Financial aid is available.
Level 1 (Junior Maine Woodscraft, grades 5-7) and Level 2 (Maine Woodscraft, grades 7-9) preparation sessions are also provided at Camp Natarswi for younger campers. Pre-requisites for prior outdoor skills development apply.
