Brittany is a veteran troop leader in her daughters Junior troop. She is also a volunteer support coordinator on Dirigo Service Unit’s team; an integral team member who is always there to help wherever she is needed even if that means traveling out of her service unit to help Girl Scouts of Maine. As an example, from fall of 2021- spring of 2022, Brittany stepped up to help run a monthly outdoor troop for a group of wonderful Daisies and Brownies. Brittany spent many Saturdays traveling out of her service unit, on top of all her other activities she did with her troop and family, guiding girls in the outdoors. She always brought so much energy and experiences to share with the girls, and despite the weather or activity, she was always there and up for the challenge. It was not just the girls being inspired, but the adults who were with her during these meetings as well. She is a reminder that exercising in the outdoors is a great thing for our hearts.
Brittany is a busy person with work, family, pursuing her MBA, and volunteering. Not only does she volunteer for Girl Scouts of Maine, but she also volunteers through her employer with Junior Achievement of Maine and local schools. She volunteers because she loves watching the girls come into their own and helping them learn about themselves, their community, and the world. She feels honored to play a part in helping them grow and being a role model for them. Brittany feels girls need a strong female influence to show them that they can be whoever they want to be. She wants them to know they can do whatever they set their minds to, but she is also passionate about making sure that they know they are still kids who can do kid-things, have fun, be silly, and make mistakes.
Thank you, Brittany for always being there for Girl Scouts with a positive attitude, a willingness to help, and leading by example. You are an inspiration to all of us!
