Green ME Up Earth Day Celebration
Save the date for April 17, 2027!
Thank you to the more than 600 Girl Scouts, families, and community members who joined us at Freeport Town Hall for Green ME Up, our annual Earth Day in Maine celebration. Together with over 20 community partners and businesses, attendees explored hands-on sustainability activities for kids—from recycling games, papermaking, and arts and crafts to rock climbing, T-shirt upcycling, and even planting seeds to take home.
Green ME Up is one of the signature Girl Scouts of Maine events that inspires girls to care for the environment, build confidence outdoors, and lead change in their communities through real-world environmental action and STEM exploration.
“It was a wonderful day filled with engaging activities for families, all centered around learning about sustainability. Families discovered how even small actions can significantly impact our planet,” said GSME Program Specialist Elizabeth Helton.
