Discovering the Global Power of Girl Scouts at Girl Scouts Unite
Girl Scouts from across the globe gathered in Washington D.C., in July for the 58th Annual National Council Session and Girl Scouts Unite 2026, a powerful celebration of connection, community, and big dreams.
Media Squad Girl Scout Genevieve was right in the middle of the excitement, capturing story after story. She interviewed fellow Girl Scouts, volunteers, and mentors asking what they love most about Girl Scouts and what it’s taught them.
One of Genevieve’s favorite parts of the experience was sleeping over at the Smithsonian Museum! Geneveive and her peers had a 3-floor scavenger hunt through the exhibits and waking up inside the museum the next morning, Geneveiev sad felt just like stepping into a movie. Another part of the trip that Genevieve loved was going to Mount Vernon, George Washingtons estate, and earning the George Washington Pioneer Farming Badge.
Beyond the fun, the whole experience left a lasting impact on Genevieve. “Attending GS Unite made me realize how much of an impact Girl Scouts has on people all over the world and how it has spanned generations,” said Genevieve. “There were women there who were Girl Scouts when they were little and are still involved and dedicated to Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts just has a lot to offer girls which is pretty cool to think about!”
