Tackling Knife Skills and Campfire Safety
The outdoors just got a whole more fun for Girl Scout Brownies and Juniors from Troops 551 and 1627! The troops joined forces for day focused on Level 1 and 2 knife skills and campfire safety. The Girl Scouts dove right into the fun, with Piper, JB, and Nora learning the art of whittling sticks safely, while Lucy practiced the "circle of safety" to build her confidence with her pocketknife. Melody loved fire building, learning all about tinder, kindling, and fuel to construct an A-frame fire. While they loved gaining these new skills, the Girl Scouts agreed that the highlight of the day was spending time with each other and making new friends!
