Troop 1226 from Wells has been busy this year! Concentrating their troop activities around physical and mental health, the group has gained tons of insight from experts around the state while practicing their new skills with hands-on activities!
According to Troop 1226 Leader Nancy Morrell, her Girl Scouts not only completed the Becoming Me series, but they also finished the Showing Up for You and Me badge. Recently, four members from the troop met with UNE’s Graduate Programs Director of Health Studies, Matthew Kaszubinski, to complete first aid training and begin working on the Stop the Bleed program!
“I am so proud of these four individuals! They continue to strive and balance school, work, community service, sports/dance, and Girl Scouts,” says Nancy.
Taking their skills to the community service realm, Troop 1226 also participated in the Hearts for Hospice program this year, making Valentine’s Day cards for local hospice care patients. They enjoyed the program so much that they’ve already made plans to make cards again next year.
“Their goal for the remainder of the year is to highlight what they love to do outdoors […] they are really looking forward to starting the Climbing Adventures badge series,” says Nancy.
Thanks for sharing all of your incredible achievements this year, Troop 1226. Keep up the great work, we love watching you thrive and continue to give back to your community!
