Girl Scouts Emilia and Lucy from Troop 5033 wanted to help the creatures that live in Capisic Pond Park for their Bronze Award project. The girls helped butterflies in the park by planting milkweed and liatris, which are food for them. The project also aimed to educate the community about the importance of pollinators and how plants help butterflies. Also, milkweed is the sole food source for caterpillars. Throughout this project, Emilia and Lucy gained valuable knowledge about planting and the local ecosystem surrounding the park.
