Michelle is a Chickadee Service Unit manager from Pittsfield, a leader of three different troops, and an assistant troop leader of GSME’s Travel Sisters troop.
In addition to mentoring Girl Scouts within her service unit’s troops, Michelle has also spent the last five years volunteering for a Maine Wilderness Adventure destination program. The program offers Girl Scouts from across the country the opportunity to visit our beautiful state and explore the Maine wilderness while gaining lifelong, hands-on skills.
Not only does Michelle help out with interviewing and selecting applicants for the wilderness program, she also facilitates prep webinars, greets each and every participant at the airport, and spends each of the 12 days of the program offering hands-on support to Girl Scouts and staff alike.
Congratulations, Michelle (who is also known as Scrapper by those who know her)! Your devotion to supporting Girl Scouts and helping them become the best leaders of tomorrow is an inspiration to us all. We thank you for all that you do within the Chickadee Service unit, your local troops, and the wildness program which impacts Girl Scouts from all over. This month, join us in honoring Michelle for her willingness to volunteer time, effort, and knowledge to building Girl Scouts of courage, confidence, and character.
