Beginning her Girl Scouts of Maine journey as a troop leader for many years, Sam has helped her former Daisies transform seamlessly into confident Cadettes. When a recent need called for a Borealis product program supervisor position to be filled, Sam answered the call without hesitation to mentor new and tenured leaders, guiding them to success.
Within her service unit, Sam is known as the first to answer a question and always greets others with a smile and kind words of encouragement. This year, Sam was recognized for her instrumental help in executing the wildly successful Northeast Regional Cookie Rally, which hosted over 275 Girl Scout members across six service units. Thanks to her helpful planning and careful organization, the event was a major hit!
We applaud Sam’s ability to help others and take on new responsibilities regardless of how big or small the task is at hand. Sam’s unwavering commitment to her troop and the entirety of the Borealis Service Unit is one of many reasons she is a deserving recipient of Girl Scouts of Maine’s Volunteer of the Month for May!
