More than a dozen Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors from Troop 1336 and Troop 1145 came together with friends and family for a car race night!
“The idea originally came about as an activity to do for a couple troops working together,” says Troop 1136 Leader Lindsey Jones.
While Troop 1136 is based in Jefferson, Troop 1145 is in Nobleboro, and the activity was an opportunity for both troops to earn the Race Car Design Challenge badge.
“The girls drew their race car designs, our husbands cut them out, the girls all got together to paint them and put wheels on,” says Lindsey.
Then came the final test on the track! After adding their final decorations and details, the troops met up at the Jefferson Village School to race their handmade creations on a downhill track constructed of wood and with metal speed lanes.
“They really enjoyed choosing who they wanted to race and trying different sides of the racetrack,” says Lindsey.
