Everyone wants a visit from a Girl Scout Easter Bunny!
Troop 351 got into the spring spirit last month, putting together Easter baskets for the community with the help of veterans from the American Legion in Madison. On March 23, fourteen Brownies and Juniors gathered at the Legion to fill the baskets with candy and small gifts donated by their troop and local businesses.
“After seeing a post on Facebook, the girls asked if they could help put together the baskets and were invited to come down and hand them out,” said Troop Leader Tracy Frost.
After putting together 100 Easter baskets in just one hour, the girls waited another two weeks before handing them out to community members just before the holiday.
“My biggest takeaway was being with the community and seeing how they benefited from the event. The girls enjoyed the interaction with the younger kids especially, and as leaders, we were proud to be part of this,” said Tracy.
Tracy says Troop 351 is always looking for different ways to work with veterans in their local area, and this was just one of many fun ways to ramp up springtime energy while giving back to others at the same time!
