This Thanksgiving, the girls from Troop 322 in Standish embarked on a mission to provide even more support to families in need. Recognizing that while many businesses and schools focus on Thanksgiving dinner, they wanted to make an even bigger impact for the holiday season.
With thoughtful planning, the troop decided to fill boxes with ingredients for four additional meals that families could prepare while children are home from school. These boxes included everything necessary for a variety of lunch and dinner recipes, as well as a sweet dessert treat and gift cards for fresh fruit.
The Girl Scouts thoroughly enjoyed their shopping spree, gathering all the essentials needed for the boxes. Once the supplies were in hand, the troop came together to assemble and decorate the boxes, adding a personal touch of care and joy. They are set to deliver these heartfelt packages just before the holiday, ensuring families receive them in time for Thanksgiving.
This initiative by Troop 322 not only provides tangible support to local families but also teaches the girls valuable lessons about teamwork, generosity, and the joy of giving. It's a shining example of how Girl Scouts take action to make a meaningful difference in their communities.
