During Troop 1459’s Girl Scout Winter Retreat, the Girl Scouts came
together to assemble 185 First Period Kits to distribute across their
three schools, ensuring that students have access to essential
supplies when they need them most.
In addition, extra
tampons and pads were donated to Cony Middle School and Cony High
School to further support students in their community. Through this
project they learned about the inequities right in their own
community.
The Troop is incredibly grateful to everyone
who donated supplies to make this project possible. Your generosity
directly helped 185 students feel prepared, supported, and cared
for.
A very special thank you to Ava and Catherine from
The Hardy Girls for taking time out of their weekend to speak with our
troop about self-love, confidence, and puberty. The girls walked away
feeling empowered, informed, and inspired.
We are beyond
proud of these Girl Scouts for stepping up, serving their community,
and showing what true leadership looks like. The future is in very
capable hands.
