After several years of saving cookie funds, Troop 1353 took their first out of state trip! The Central Maine Girl Scouts traveled by train from Portland to the busy city of Boston. The Girl Scouts had researched activities and then voted on their itinerary for the weekend away.
The Troop visited the Franklin Park Zoo, Faneuil Hall, and the Museum of Ice Cream, sliding into an enormous sprinkle pit at the end. A lot of the Girl Scouts experienced new modes of transportation too including the train, city bus, underground bus, and subway. Their leaders and chaperones were so proud of them all as they navigated the weekend away and the Girls learned firsthand that cookie earnings can send you places!
