Girl Scouts from Troops 1264 and 1430 went on an enlightening field trip to a Lavender Farm! It was a day filled with learning, exploration, and a blossoming love for nature’s lavender treasure. The girls discovered the intricacies of cultivating and harvesting lavender, delving into the uses of the plant—from crafting to culinary delights.
“Our biggest takeaways from the event were learning you can have a job doing something you love at home, and learning that lavender regrows every year,” said Troop Leader Kristin Tobey.
The highlight for many of the Girl Scouts was the hands-on experience of pruning lavender plants and crafting sachet bags filled with their harvest. For others, tasting lavender-infused treats was an unexpected and delightful surprise, opening their eyes to lavender’s culinary potential.
This field trip was more than just a learning experience; it was an adventure that ignited curiosity and creativity. The journey through the lavender maze was an enchanting exploration, leaving a lasting impression and showcasing the beauty and wonder of nature, while also instilling an appreciation for sustainable practices.
