In a display of courage and community spirit, law enforcement officers from various departments joined forces for the 24-hour Super Plunge at Ogunquit Beach. As part of the Maine Law Enforcement Torch Run, these officers took on the icy ocean plunge every hour for 24 hours to raise funds and awareness for Maine Special Olympics.
Joining them for plunge #9 were Girl Scouts Charlee and Braelyn from Troop 1411. Despite the chilly conditions and darkness at 8 p.m., they demonstrated their commitment to inclusivity and community support by bravely diving into the ocean alongside officers from Eliot and York Police Departments.
In addition to their participation, Troop 1411 brought along two cases of Girl Scout Cookies to reward and energize the plungers for their dedicated efforts in supporting Maine Special Olympics. This incredible event not only raised vital funds but also helped spread a powerful message of inclusivity and support, embodying the core values of Girl Scouts and their dedication to making a difference in their communities.
