This month, we proudly celebrate Bertha Bucknell, a remarkable volunteer who began her Girl Scouts of Maine journey as a young girl.
Bertha has been a cherished member of the GSME family for decades, starting when her mother established a Girl Scout troop. Over the years, Bertha has led many troops and now diligently serves as the treasurer for the Apple Mountain Service Unit, a role she has held for years.
When asked what she treasures most about her time with Girl Scouts, Bertha expressed her joy in witnessing girls form enduring friendships, as well as valuing the lifelong connections she has made through Girl Scouts.
As a volunteer, Bertha is always ready to assist wherever needed. Her dedication knows no bounds, whether she is helping with event planning, supporting fellow volunteers, or promoting Girl Scouts at local events. Her positive spirit and unwavering commitment to the Girl Scout mission inspire everyone around her. Bertha is truly cherished in her community, embodying the spirit of volunteerism.
Thank you, Bertha, for being such an incredible volunteer. We are truly fortunate to have you in our Girl Scout community!
