Troop 5043 recently took action to support their community in a deeply impactful way. At Auburn Middle School, they decided to help lead a food drive, packing 40 Thanksgiving meals and Weekend Take-Home Food Bags. These essential packages are available to anyone in need, providing a vital resource without any questions asked. In total, the girls proudly donated 700 items.
Choosing this initiative, Troop 5043 aimed to create change close to home, understanding that many of their peers and families depend on supplemental food resources. They passionately advocate for the visibility of need within their community, striving to eliminate the stigma associated with asking for help and aiming to make resources more accessible to all.
Their commitment embodies the spirit of community service, reflecting the Girl Scouts' mission of helping others and making a positive difference. As the troop members put it, "We are all here to be helpers!" This inspiring approach not only supports those in need but also fosters an environment of compassion and mutual assistance.
