Dozens of Girl Scouts from all over Maine traveled south to Boston this June for a fun-filled travel program in the big city. Four Cadettes from Troop 143 in Windsor took the opportunity for a city adventure and had a blast!
Beginning their three-day journey with a ride on the Amtrak Downeaster (a first for many!), these intrepid travelers then navigated the MBTA Subway and public bus system before landing at their hostel.
Their next three days were filled with New England adventure! First, they got their fill of animal fun at the Franklin Park Zoo where they saw monkeys, turtles, lions, snakes, and more. At the Boston Museum of Science, the Girl Scouts learned about STEM, climate change, space, history, and everything in between. They also visited the New England Aquarium, a Holocaust Memorial, and no trip to Boston is complete without a food tour of Faneuil Hall!
“This was a great experience for our Cadettes and we want to share so others know about these trips that are available to the Girls,” says Troop Leader Dawn Brunelle.
