Spring 2024
After a successful cookie season, Troop 1423 had some big decisions to make regarding what to do with the money. When the 13 Brownies put it to a vote, a trip to Boston was the clear winner!
Before organizing any plans, the troop needed to explore their options for travel and activities.
“Earlier in the year, each girl researched either the New England Aquarium or the Boston Museum of Science, with one girl choosing to research the Downeaster,” says Troop Leader Monique Prevost.
Once each Girl Scout shared their research with the rest of the group, they voted on where to visit.
“The aquarium won with a majority vote, and we found a perfect Saturday where all the girls were available in May,” says Monique.
After purchasing tickets and securing the date and time, they created a packing list of essentials for the journey and discussed what to wear for the spring weather in Boston.
When the time came, the troop had a smooth train down to the big city, learning about locomotive travel from the conductor and even making a former Girl Scout friend along the way!
“The girls loved learning about all the animals and fish at the aquarium […] were tired by the time we returned home, but they all agreed it was a wonderful time,” says Monique.
