Girl Scouts from Troop 1049 recently organized a drive, collecting underwear, socks, and personal hygiene items to benefit the community. Their mission extended beyond gathering donations as they actively participated in the Day of Caring at First Parish UCC in Saco.
After diligently sorting and displaying the donations, the Girl Scouts rolled up their sleeves to help prepare and serve lunch. They also provided childcare, allowing families to receive valuable services like haircuts, eye exams, and health screenings, without worry. Engaging the children with story time, the girls filled the day with warmth and connection.
The impact was palpable, as smiles and gratitude spread among the community. Troop 1049’s efforts not only ensured the success of this community event but also highlighted the profound difference young leaders can make. Through their dedication and empathy, the Girl Scouts proved that even small acts of kindness can lead to meaningful change.
