In honor of Girl Scouts turning 114 this year, the Arnold Trail service unit hosted a vibrant birthday celebration that brought the entire community together. Spearheaded by Kait Burke, along with the support of Molly Burton and Lynn Bustard, the event was a big success!
The celebration saw the participation of 13 registered volunteers and over 20 Girl Scouts, ranging from Juniors to Ambassadors, each playing a crucial role in organizing and managing various activity stations. Festivities included slingshots, face painting, binary code bracelet making, and SWAPS just to name a few.
Junior Girl Scouts suggested features like a seating area for adults, listed cupcake ingredients, and insisted on birthday piñatas. Also, a pet supply collection table offered attendees the chance to win a variety of Girl Scout cookies if they made a dog toy. The Girl Scouts ended up making over 90 dog toys to donate to the Waterville Humane Society.
Girl Scouts and volunteers from six different service units across Maine joined hands to ensure the event's success, celebrating the organization's past, present, and future.
