Every girl has the potential to make a difference in the world. Yet
only one girl in five believes she has what it takes to lead. That is
why Girl Scouting is so crucial; we give girls the chance to learn the
skills and gain the confidence to become the next generation of leaders.
Our goal is to support every girl with the opportunity to be the
leader she wants to be, and the leader the world needs her to be. Join
us in making a promise to girls that every girl in this generation
will reach her fullest potential, wherever she lives, whatever
challenges face her, and however great the journey to what she can become.
Areas of Giving
Annual Fund
Do you value the Girl Scout Experience? Help make it possible
for more girls through a gift to the Annual Fund. Gifts to the council
through the annual fund are unrestricted and are used to support the
greatest needs of our girls and volunteers. In addition to offering
their time and talent, many alum, parents, and friends choose to
support Girl Scouts in this way.
Campership Fund
Your donation will provide a girl with the chance to ride a
horse, learn archery, go hiking, and enjoy an experience they wouldn’t
otherwise have the opportunity to do. Camperships ensure that girls
have access to all the incredible experiences Summer Camp has to
offer. Your gift to this fund provides financial assistance for girls
wanting to attend our resident and day camps.
Legacy
Giving - The Juliette Gordon Low Society
As you know, in March 1912, Juliette Gordon Low gathered just a
few girls to begin the Girl Scouts movement we all know and love
today. In her honor, Girl Scouts of the USA in conjunction with local
councils, has launched the Juliette Gordon Low Society (JGL Society)
of planned giving donors.
Everyone has the opportunity to
include Girl Scouts of Maine in their estate plans, and make a big
impact. It can begin by simply writing a will, but it can also include
changing beneficiaries of life insurance policies and retirement
accounts, or providing lifetime income for yourself and others through
a charitable trust.
As a Juliette Gordon Low Society
member, you will be invited to attend special recognition and events.
Other benefits include a subscription to the Society newsletter,
listing as a Society member in select Girl Scout publications, access
to digital resources, and a special membership lapel pin.
If you have already named us as the beneficiary of a planned gift, let
us know! We will welcome you as a Juliette Gordon Low Society member.
If you would like more information about how you can become a member -
in a manner that benefits you, your heirs, and Girl Scouts of Maine -
please email Chief of Resource Development Connie
Goulatis or call 888-922-4763.
