Who should attend: Girl Scouts in grades 2-5.
Get ready to explore, create, and collaborate! This engaging program begins with a guided tour of the museum, where you'll discover how textiles are made, from raw materials to finished products, and learn about the people, machines, and processes behind the fabrics we use every day. After the tour, put your new knowledge into action in a hands-on Textile Production Line Challenge. Working in teams, you'll take on different roles in a "factory" to design and produce friendship bracelets just like in a real production line. Through this fun and creative experience, you will take home a handmade friendship bracelet and a deeper understanding of how textiles are created from start to finish.
This visit partially fulfills requirements for the Brownie: Craft and Tinker Badge and the Junior: Production Designer Badge.
Attend as an individual with your caregiver or attend with your troop.
Please Note:
Troops should follow girl-to-adult ratios. Girl Scouts attending individually should be accompanied by a caregiver.
Registrants will get more information 1 week prior to the event.
A minimum of 10 Girl Scouts is needed to run this program.
