Community Engagement Specialist

The Community Engagement Specialist is a sales position with responsibilities for the recruitment of Girl Scout adult volunteers (troop leaders) and girl members throughout Southern Maine including York and Cumberland Counties. She/he will achieve territorial recruitment/sales goals through planning and presenting at recruitment events year-round including school open houses, Discover Girl Scout events for parents and girls, community fairs and festivals, public speaking engagements, presentations to businesses, and networking within professional organizations. She/he will recruit, train and oversee volunteer recruiters to assist within the territory. She/he is responsible for lead generation and follow-up and working with other departments within Girl Scouts of Maine (GSME) to convert the leads to troop leaders or girl members.

This 35 hour per week position is 50% office and 50% field-based, and frequent travel, along with evening and weekend work, is required.

Placement Specialist

The Placement Specialist is responsible for converting prospective members (leads) to registered members. Assists potential volunteers in finding a role appropriate to their skills, interests and time constraints. Assists parents/caregivers in finding options to participate for their girl appropriate to their interests, grade and schedule, and guides all who are interested through the placement process to membership.
