We are honored to have Shannon Johnson as our Volunteer of the Month!

Shannon Johnson

We are so lucky to have Shannon Johnson as part of our organization and we are honored to announce that she has been chosen to be our Volunteer of the Month! Shannon has been with Girl Scouts for 15 years and got her start as a leader of her daughter's troop, but she didn't stop there. She also served as a co-leader for many other troops over the years and helped out at GSME events whenever help was needed. Some of Shannon’s favorite memories with her past troop were watching them as they went from Brownies all the way to Ambassadors, traveling as a troop to Savannah, Georgia, and visiting Costa Rica with Girls on the Go. Another shining moment for Shannon was when she was a delegate at the national convention in 2017. She was honored to attend and be a part of the discussion about issues important to the Girl Scout Movement.

When Shannon was ready to move on from being a troop leader, she stuck around to be a parent helper! During her years with the Winding Rivers Service Unit, she has had many leadership roles. Shannon has been the product program coordinator for both the fall product and cookie program, treasurer, manager, and was on the event committee. Also, since she loved traveling so much with the girls, she became the travel coordinator for Girls on the Go!

Shannon has many passions, including books, movies, painting, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with her now grown-up daughter. She has taken her passions in life and applied them to her work with Girl Scouts. She truly believes in our mission to raise girls with the courage and confidence to take on the world, and hopes she is a calm presence in a chaotic moment for others.

Thank you, Shannon for everything you have done and continue to do for Girl Scouts of Maine. We see you, and we appreciate you!
