The 2008 Girl Scout National Council Session 51st
Convention will take place from October 30-November 2, 2008 in Indianapolis,
Ind. This event takes place every three years and is the largest event on
the Girl Scout calendar! More than 14,000 girl and adult members and nearly
200 exhibitors and sponsors will converge for the event, each committed to
developing girls' leadership skills.
During this event, the National Council of Girl Scouts will make important
decisions critical to the continued success of the organization. We will
celebrate the dramatic changes and accomplishments of the Movement, since
initiating a new business strategy in 2004.
The Girl Scouts of Maine will be sending ten delegates to
the National Convention and visitors are welcome to come as well. If you are
planning on attending 2008 National Convention as a visitor please let us
know. Tentative travel dates are from October 29th to November 2nd. In order to take advantage of reduced
registration, hotel, and airfare please contact Joan McDonald at
jmcdonald@gsmaine.org
by May 29th. The estimated cost per visitor is $1,000 per person. |
