GIRL SCOUT SERVICE CORPS
WEEKEND
May 16–18, 2008
Camp Natarswi marked 65 years of camping in 2001. To prepare the
camp for the celebration, we started the Service Corps Program. The
response was so great we decided to make it an annual event. Each
year we ask girls in grade six and up to come to camp to help us
paint, cut trails, clean out fire pits, put up tents and do
environmental projects. While there is a lot of work to be done,
don’t worry – you’ll have time to enjoy some fun things at camp too!
Come help us get ready for summer and this year’s 72nd camp season.
We can only accept 50 girls and adults for this weekend, so be sure
to sign up early. Please use the registration form in the center of
this brochure.
NATARSWI GIRL SCOUT FRIENDS ~ HELPING HANDS
WEEKEND
May 23–26, 2008
You are invited to a working weekend at Camp Natarswi. Come help us
prepare camp for the summer session and enjoy the beauty of Natarswi
in the spring. If you are experienced in carpentry, plumbing,
electrical or other skilled work, or just handy with tools and have
the willingness to work, we would love to hear from you. The
projects include building new tent platforms, cutting wood, trimming
trails, raking, painting, cleaning, electrical and plumbing work,
organizing the trading post, arts and crafts and nature buildings
and more. We will provide housing, meals and some free time for
hiking, fishing or just relaxing. This is a volunteer activity, not
a troop activity. Please use the registration form in the center of
this brochure. Please understand that Helping Hands is a working
weekend and families with young children should consider other
programs available at camp.
