Maine Wilderness Adventure Challenge Destination

Maine Wilderness Adventure Challenge Destination

This past July, 10 girls from councils across the country tested their outdoor skills and challenged themselves on a 12 day Maine Wilderness Adventure Challenge Destination! They were based at our Girl Scouts of Maine Camp Natarswi and got to experience some of Maine's most famous natural features.

The girls hiked along sections of the Appalachian trail, camped in Baxter State Park, explored underground ice caves, went white water rafting, and summited Mt. Katahdin.

During this Maine Wilderness Adventure Challenge, they developed and improved their outdoor skills, learned wilderness survival techniques, and built lasting friendships!

Don't take our word for it. Here are quotes from some of the girls who participated in this Destination opportunity!

“I felt proud of myself. It was really hard, but I pushed myself and did it.”

“It was something new and was a good challenge and pushed me to the limit.”

“The scenery was amazing and beautiful. I proved to myself during this trip that I was capable of more than I thought.”

“I had an amazing time at this Destination!”

“It was difficult and beautiful and summiting Katahdin reinforced confidence in all of us to do our best throughout the rest of the trip.”

“I am stronger than I believe and can keep going when things get tough.”

“This was an amazing trip that I will never forget.”
