Immerse yourself in the natural world as you explore and ask questions like a trained naturalist in marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Join GSME and the field scientists at Hurricane Island Center for Science and Leadership for a one-of-a-kind 100% off-the-grid adventure 12 miles off the Maine coast. In this 3-day project based-field science program, you’ll explore marine biology through real-life research, plankton study, and field sampling. Come to the island as an individual, leave the island as part of an amazing team striving to make a difference in the world- as students, scientists, citizens, Girl Scouts and leaders.

As possible, we will try to pair individual girls (not attending with a troop) who do not have a parent/guardian that can attend with them with another troop/adult in order to cover ratios. Please contact Kirstin Powell-Williams at kpowell@gsmaine.org if you need to be sistered up in these circumstances.
