Girl Scout Camp - A Traditional Camping Experience

The early days of Girl Scout camping focused on progressive skill-building and community living in the out-of-doors that enabled girls to establish a healthy relationship and respect for their world.

Girl Scouts of Maine is continuing this tradition through My Camp Journey - a progressive camp program that offers something for every girl.  Each Path is age-specific and designed to challenge the camper as she grows through her Girl Scout camping years.

Camp Programming

There are four levels of camp programming, as well as Day, Specialty, and CIT programs. Click on a blue header to see camp listings available for each level.

Day Camp is an introduction to overnight camp.

Trail Seekers is a three night camp experience for girls entering grades 2-4.

Trail Explorers is a week-long experience for girls who are ready and entering grades 2-3. The Seeker and Explorer sessions allow girls to discover what they’re interested in by trying a variety of activities with their unit group.

Trail Blazers for girls entering grades 4-5 allow progressively more choice in daily program and increased leadership and independence.

Trail Guides for girls entering grade 6 and up, are designed to allow girls to follow their already identified individual interests and pick their own activities.

Specialty Programs are available for girls who are looking for a more intense focus on one or more aspects of the camp program. Even more challenging programs are offered for girls grade 8 and up.

CIT Programs are available for girls 16 and up, and is a progressive program that focuses on developing the knowledge and technical skills required of a camp counselor.
