At Girl Scouts of Maine, we believe the heart of Girl Scouting is the personal development of each girl! With over 14,000 girl and 4,000 adult members, Girl Scouts of Maine is the state’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls - all girls - where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adults, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives - like strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth.

Teen Girl ScoutsIn Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through the many enriching experiences provided by Girl Scouting, they grow courageous and strong.

Girl Scouts of Maine is guided by the Girl Scout Promise and Law which is shared by every member of Girl Scouting worldwide. The Girl Scout Promise is the way Girl Scouts agree to act every day toward one another and other people, and the Law outlines a way to act towards one another and the world.

The Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

The Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be
     honest and fair,
     friendly and helpful,
     considerate and caring,
     courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
     respect myself and others,
     respect authority,
     use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

The Girl Scout Mission

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
