Girl Scout Products: New Information on Pistachio Recall

April 8, 2009
Will be updated if changes occur

Today the Girl Scouts of the USA and its supplier, Ashdon Farms, announced a voluntary recall involving certain code dates of 7.5 oz Girl Scouts Pistachios packed in pop top cans. At this point this is a precautionary step since no illnesses have been reported in relation to this product. This recall is in response to the voluntarily recall of pistachios announced by Setton Farms on April 6, 2009 as a result of possible Salmonella contamination.

This recall only affects those 7.5 oz Girl Scouts Pistachios packed in pop top cans with the code date beginning with 8264A6, 8266B6, 8289A5, 8297A6, 8297B6 or 8318A6 on the bottom of the can. The vast majority of these products were shipped last October through November. If you have one of these products, please call 800-274-3666, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Central time, and speak to a member of our recall team at Ashdon Farms.
